Sera Beak

Sera Beak Sera Beak is a Harvard-trained scholar of comparative religion and mysticism who has spent the last dozen years traveling the world exploring spirituality - from whirling with Sufi dervishes to meeting the Dalai Lama on her 21st birthday, from taking the host from a Croatian Catholic mystic who had the stigmata to having life-altering visions with a shaman and just about everything in between. Sera now happily deems herself a "spiritual cowgirl".

Alyson Richards

Alyson Richards

Alyson Richards is a Toronto-based producer who most recently completed principal photography on the feature film THE LAST NEW YEAR by director Garfield Lindsay Miller and executive producer Debbie Nightingale. She is an Associate Producer on THE WEIGHT, a television series created by George F. Walker and Dani Romain (THIS IS WONDERLAND) starring Daniel Kash and Linda Hamilton. Alyson has produced numerous award-winning short films including SKINHEADS (Special Merit Award, Euroshorts International Festival of Short Film) and DOGASAUR (Best Children's Film, Mexico International Film Festival). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Theory and is an alumnus of both the Canadian Film Centre and The National Screen Institute.

Alyson joined FierceLight Films Inc. in 2006 managing the production travel and logistics as well as over-seeing the production budget for FIERCE LIGHT: When Spirit Meets Action from the head office in Toronto.

Alyson is currently up to big things in her role as Producer at the Nightingale Company in Toronto.

Claudia Medina

Claudia Medina
Claudia is a filmmaker, writer, and educator. Much of her filmmaking deals with the stories and influences of her tri national heritage (Mexico, Italy, small town BC) and how they are transposed and mixed into the Canadian cultural landscape.
 
Claudia has also pursued her commitment to social change through her of work as an organizer and educator for such organizations as The Council of Canadians and Canada World Youth. Claudia currently dedicates herself to filmmaking and mentoring youth to tell their own visual stories through her work at Projections and Gulf Islands Film and TV School. She recently mentored a group of Canadian, Palestinian, and Israeli youth to make films in the Creative Peace Network's Peace it Together Program.  Entre el Medio and Finding Llorona are two of Claudia's 35mm dramatic films which have been exhibited nationally and internationally. 

Claudia travelled with Velcrow to Oaxaca, Mexico during the height of the people's revolution, the World Social Forum in Nairobi, Kenya; Robben Island, Durban, & Johonnesberg, South Africa; India to the Gandhia Ahsram Reconstruction Trust & Hyderabaad with Leela Kumari & the Dalit Community; Sri Lanka where we stayed with the Sarvoyada Movement hosted by Krishna Aratna; and to New Zealand for the Parihaka Peace Festival.

Lauren Gotkowski

Lauren Gotkowski Fresh Sheridan Media Arts graduate Lauren Gotkowski is just staring to carve her path - in film as well as in life. She wants to discover and learn as much as she possibly can about the world and the wonderful people in it in order to assist her in making a meaningful contribution, forming her beliefs, and finding her place.

Lauren is honored to be working on the Fierce Light project, excited to share in and spread the message of fierce love.

Lauren is also a talented writer, with a savvy and down-to-earth look on life.  She is currently writing her first book "The Feisty Freshwoman's Encyclopedia".

During college Lauren was a contributor to the Canadian Film School Consortium Newsletter and the writer for her school's monthly half-hour online variety show starring jess Cruickshank, now a popular MTV Live host.  Lauren is currently an active writer for shedoesthecity.com, a Toronto-based website targeting witty, smart and stylish women from 19 to 31.  Lauren writes frequent book and film reviews for their A&E as well as a weekly sex and relationship column for their Sexcetera section, the most trafficked page on the site.
