The Community
The South Central Farmers consisted of primarily Latino and Indigenous families who lovingly tended the land for 14 years until the the site was sold to a developer. To support the farmers people from all backgrounds and economic status’ came from around the world, many personally taking part in the non-violent protest to save the farm.

Destruction
Despite the community’s powerful non-violent protests - on July 5, 2006 the farm was bulldozed. Although this event was devastating it has made the farmers more determined than ever to regain and restore their land.
