Krishna was my host in Sri Lanka where I visited the Sarvodaya Movement. A true humanitarian, Krishna escorted me to the rural villages of Sri Lanka where I was welcomed into the communities with open arms.

Krishna is proud that he is a son of a simple Sri Lankan farmer. He studied Music and Musicology and completed his PHD at Stanford. He has traveled extensively around the globe playing percussion with many renowned musicians before joining McCann Ericson - one of the world's leading advertising agencies. During his advertising career he designed campaigns for multinational brands such as Coca Cola, Detol, Singer, and won more than 20 prestigious awards for his social service campaigns for UNICEF projects.

Krishna gave up his highly paid job as an associate creative director and joined Sarvodaya in 2001 as a full time volunteer mostly assisting Dr. AT Ariayaratne, Founder of Sarvodaya.

Now a full time documentary film director, Krishna was chosen by the TIBET HOUSE to make a film on His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Krishna is another one of the wonderful people I've met who I now consider a good friend. He is a gentle, humble, fierce soul with a great sense of humour and a profound commitment to the Sarvodayan Movement. He became our guide in Sri Lanka and took us into the outlying villages to see Sarvodaya in action. He is one of those rare human beings who always seems to be happy, filled with smiles and exuberance - an infectious joy that rubs off on everyone he comes into contact with.
