Sera Beak

Sera Beak is a Harvard-trained scholar of comparative religion and mysticism who has spent the last dozen years traveling the world exploring spirituality - from whirling with Sufi dervishes to meeting the Dalai Lama on her 21st birthday, from taking the host from a Croatian Catholic mystic who had the stigmata to having life-altering visions with a shaman and just about everything in between. Sera now happily deems herself a "spiritual cowgirl".

She is the author of The Red Book: A Deliciously Unorthodox Approach To Igniting Your Divine Spark. She has also written for the Let's Go Travel Guide series, Bootyparlor.com and Beliefnet.com.

Sera & Velcrow I met Sera Beak at Zaadz.net, an online gathering place of people committed to creating change through spiritual and social consciousness. Within our first few email exchanges it was clear we were two peas from the same pod and when it came time to shoot the North American scenes for Fierce Light she happily agreed to join the crew. Her vibrant, reverently irreverent, "redvolutionary" spirituality has been a tremendous source of inspiration to both Fierce Light and to my own spiritual journey, and with Fierce Light Films we're going on to co-direct a new feature documentary called "Redvolution: Dare to Disturb the Universe", produced by Cher Hawrysh. It is about becoming your own spiritual super hero.
