Sacred Run

The Nevada Test Site occupies land that the federal government illegally seized from the tribe in the 1940s to use for weapons testing. Every year the Western Shoshone circle the Nevada Nuclear Test Site as a healing ritual, running on foot a 300 mile journey. The government appropriated their lands, and forcibly relocated them to the outskirts of the test site, still close enough to be impacted by the effects of radiation.
