Cher Hawrysh
Committed to producing media that entertains, educates and expands our sense of self and the world we live in, Cher has played a key role in the production of 100's of hours of independent, studio, newsroom and network productions in Canada, the U.S, the U.K., and Africa. A graduate of Norman Jewison's Prestigious CFC Film Residency Programme in Toronto, Cher attended the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2006, produced renowned visual artists Sheila Pye's dramatic directorial debut Empty Room, and is alumni of the CFTPA International Producer Mentorship Programme.
In addition to working as a Filmmaker Mentor for MTV's Staying Alive ~ 48fest during the World Aids Conference, Cher lived in Boulder, Colorado for a year where she ran the media department for Integral Naked, and worked as a freelance Producer for Sounds True.
Additional career highlights include working in London, UK on To Free the Slaves, filming the award-winning documentary Mama June; A Different Perspective on Aids on location in Tanzania, and as Assistant to Peabody Award Winning Executive Producer Mark Carliner, working directly with ABC Television and Sony Pictures Television, and Stephen King on Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital.
Cher was a key force behind the marketing and distribution of Velcrow Ripper's acclaimed feature documentary, ScaredSacred, and is the creative producer and business partner to Velcrow Ripper in FierceLight Films.
